Mountain Biking

This is our trail ride following part of the orange loop to Swamp Rabbit. We then went to the end of Swamp Rabbit where it hits Parkins Mill Road. We then rode the Swamp Rabbit trail back to the parking area - where my company left. I then returned to the trail and rode the entire orange trail. I definitely think the CW loop would be easier (less uphill I think) than the CCW direction I went (we were here on an even day).

One of our first experiences on single track mountain biking trail! Skinny Trail is a beginner/intermediate trail in the Forks Area Trail System (FATS). It's a great trail (if I can do it ... I feel like anyone could) ... very well maintained and fun! It's maintained by ... http://www.sorbacsra.org/index.html We parked at the south trailhead.

On our way home, we stopped to ride a section of the Bartram East trail from West Dam to Lake Springs Rd. Along the way, we included the Lake Springs loop (and took the side trail to the boat launch area). One thing to note ... is walk your bike across the bridge to the side trail - there's a couple of messed up areas and is probably unsafe to bike across. Great trail but is a little rough the first 1/2 mile or so (rocks/roots).

Fantastically fun ride this morning with Sally at Dupont! Besides a snafu with Sally’s leash (it broke! 🤷‍♀️) … we had an absolute blast!! Hickory Mountain Road 🚴‍♀️ Hickory Mountain Loop 🚴‍♀️ Ridgeline 🚴‍♀️ Lake Imaging 🚴‍♀️ Hilltop 🚴‍♀️ Issac Heath 🚴‍♀️ Jim Branch 🚴‍♀️ Buck Forest

Rode the JFA loop at Pleasant Ridge ... definitely more technical than I’d anticipated. Definitely going to be sore tomorrow! Hikers go opposite of bikers (the direction changes each month (odd/even months). It’d be a great hike too! I highly recommend using TrailForks app to know where you are in the park - trails aren't well marked.

Enjoyed a great morning ride with hubby! Super nice trails and plenty of parking. There's a covered picnic area with a bike repair station near the parking lot where the trailhead is. The trails are all beginner friendly and very fun! The park also has a disc golf course and playground.

The ride at Tannery Knobs was fun but also probably the narrowest trail I’ve rode yet! Plenty of parking, nice maps, and well marked! Close to I26 too! Breakfast Club - Mountain Express - Panorama - Breakfast Club - Baby Wave - Chairlift - Breakfast Club

Our return to DuPont was a tough but fun one! Started at Guion Farms out Hickory Mountain Rd to Ridgeline to Hooker Creek (this is where I messed up and took the hard way … still fun though) to Ruffled Grouse to Shoal Creek to Farmhouse to Buck Forest. Always a fun ride in Dupont because the trails seem to be well cared for!

Enjoyed the trails at Lakeside but I’ll be honest - I wouldn’t feel comfortable being there by myself. After an encounter with one lady yelling at me (I was recording the parking area/trailhead … and she thought I was filming her - which I wasn’t) and just an odd feeling which led me to move to another parking area. I’ll be honest - if I hadn’t been meeting my friend there to ride - I would’ve probably left. Aside from that … the trails were super fun and pretty well maintained. Biking seems to be the popular method but saw one person trail running. Trails used: All Day, Baby; Every Minute; Every Second

Had fun on the trails at SWU. Had an unfortunate close encounter with a root when I went over my handlebars - all is good! Overall well maintained ... just have to watch your lines and loose ground. The direction changes - so make note of the direction noted on the signs. Trails used: Red & Blue https://www.swu.edu/about/contact/local-area-information/hundred-acre-woods-trails/
